Flame Retardant VA-259 Polyurethane

Manufacturers of medical equipment, consumer electronics and automotive parts are finding that VA-259 polyurethane is ideal for prototyping and casting of thermoplastic-like initial device housings and components until final tooling is complete.  The durable vacuum casting material is also a great choice for low-volume production projects.  View Datasheet (PDF)


UL 94 Test Standards for Plastics
Sample testsOne of the key criteria in determining the suitability of plastics, such as Innovative Polymers’ polyurethanes, for building appliances, electronics and under-the-hood vehicle components is the Underwriters' Laboratories (UL) flammability rating of the materials.  UL has assigned 12 different flame classifications to materials based on the results of lab-scale flame tests.  Read more…


U.S. Capitol Model
Capitol ModelOne of the key exhibits at the celebrated new Visitors Center that is now the main entrance to the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C. is a high-accuracy scale model of the world famous Dome structure.  The 14-foot-tall model features a “touchable”, photographable exterior and lighted interior section of The Rotunda that is displayed behind glass to protect the exacting miniature replica.  Read more…
